Remarks: | Article is written on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee exhibition by Art Society of India, Bombay. Art Society of India is described here as an upcoming and significant space which encourages artists by holding annual exhibitions, giving awards and scholarships. It was inaugurated in April 1918, and a significant contributor was an art teacher from the J.J. School of Art, Shri Ramkrishna. This organisation had protested against the government, when the latter suggested that the J.J. School of Art be shut down. |
